Having come through the main entrance, you were no doubt captivated by the glass mosaic by the artist Eliška Rozátová, which faces the main door. This is an excellent example of this remarkable technology, which was widely used in the region in the second half of the 20th century. Pass through the glass door to the left of the counter. Upon entering the exhibition you’re welcomed by the 1870 marble and bronze statue of Othello by the Milanese sculptor Pietro Calvi. The statue has been in the collections of the museum since 1971. Unfortunately, we have no idea how it found its way to Jablonec; its history is a mystery. For many years it was in the permanent collection, a great favourite with visitors.
